Small Master Bedroom Refresh

Sooo who remembers when I shared my Small Master Bedroom Design Board? Well, I realized that I never shared the finished (or rather almost finished) product! The only thing really left on the to-do list in here is a new window and bamboo shade…maybe (hopefully) next year!

I’m finally feeling like the vision I had for our little master bedroom has come to life! It feels so light, cozy, and the perfectly peaceful place to chill after a long day—which is exactly what I was aiming for! If you’re like me, keeping a space simple and clutter-free really helps me it to feel more relaxing, too!

Before we moved in, we painted the walls, installed new trim, and lightly sanded the hardwood floors to freshen up the whole room! Since then, we’ve added a light fixture, closet door, and new bedroom door. Otherwise it’s just been a slow and steady process of making this space feel like us with the right pieces and of course, on a budget!

I’ve come to find that it’s so important to really live in a space to decide from there what it really needs (or really doesn’t) to be the most functional for you and your family.

For us, the most important factors in this space were:

A pretty rug to add character and coziness! Hardwood floors are beautiful, but not very warm to walk around on, especially when you’re waking up in the morning! Haha.
The curtain trick! There’s only one window in our bedroom and it’s off-centered on the wall. So, we did the curtain trick to make it appear like it’s centered.
A dresser and nightstands with good storage because our closet is tiny with a capital T.
