AeroPress is different in that there are two different ways you can use it. The Classic and the Inverted method. Both will start out the same way, with your favorite coffee beans! You'll want to grind your beans to a very fine consistency. We use a hand grinder to have the most control over our grind.

The Classic Method

Bring the water to the right temperature. For this method, you'll want your water to be about 185 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place a filter in the Aeropress cap. Wet the filter down along with your fancy coffee making machine. Wetting it down allows the plunger to move easier! Screw the filter cap onto the brewing chamber.

Add grounds. Scoop one scoop of finely ground coffee with the scoop provided (scoop scoop scoop). Pour it into the brewing chamber and shake it so it's level. Set the chamber on your favorite mug.

Pour water over the grounds. Don't pour it too fast so that the water doesn't go through the filter right away. Add water up to the "2" on the brewing chamber. Immediately after, stir the coffee for 10 seconds.

Insert plunger. Start to slowly press on the plunger with one hand while holding the mug and brewing chamber with your free hand so that it doesn't slip. Once the plunger is all the way down, discard the grounds and rinse your tools.

Finishing up. If you're wanting an espresso shot, then drink it as is. Or you could make a latte by adding milk and your favorite flavor! For a more traditional cup of coffee, just add more water to taste!

Inverted Method

The inverted has a lot of similarities to the classic method, it's just upside down. So I won't bore you with all the details.

Bring water to a boil. You'll want your water temp to be just off of boil, around 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Insert plunger into brewing chamber. Turn the whole setup on its head so that the plunger top is on the table.

Add coffee grounds. Again, you'll be using finely ground coffee. Add one level scoop of grounds.

Pour in the water. Pour about twice as much water as you would for the classic method. Stir coffee for a few seconds and then let it brew for about a minute.

Screw on the filter cap. Make sure you have a rinsed filter on your filter cap and screw it to the brewing chamber. Plunge it down to get rid of the air below the filter.

PLUNGE. Flip the brewing chamber over and place it on a mug. Begin plunging the coffee through the filter. Add water to taste or drink as is!
