Happy September, friends!! I kind of can't believe September is here already, but I'm also not mad about it because I'm so excited for allll of the fall things. Anyone else?! It's just such a cozy time of year!

We are slowly adding in some fall pieces at our storefront at Grace + Gather, which is making me even more excited to start decorating my own house for fall! I've come to realize that because our house is pretty small, keeping the decor simple, practical, and functional helps it from feeling cluttered or messy! Here are my 5 simple fall decor ideas:

Use natural elements.

The most simple and affordable of all the fall decor is to gather up some pumpkins, gourds, apples, branches, or leaves and place them around your home, in a bowl, in a large glass jar, on your kitchen shelves, dining room table, or of course on your front porch! There’s so many ways to display them, it’s easy on the wallet , and at the end of the season, you don't have to make room to store them!!

Small items to change out seasonally.

A super-easy way to refresh a space for the new season and also easier to store! For example, replacing faux greenery stems with some fall floral stems (but keeping the same vase or jug). Love this faux yellow locust stem from Target.

Another idea is to swap out some art or prints in your picture frames! You can shop this cutie fall sweet fall print in my Etsy shop, here!

Switching out your throw pillows (or pillow covers), blankets, and bedding.

Adding some darker and more muted tones will help to create more of a fall color palette and bring in some warmer, cozier textures! Like our Bryce Throw Blanket. Makes me want to cuddle up on the couch and watch Hocus Pocus all.day.long.

Choose decor pieces that don't scream Halloween.

This way you can continue to display them throughout the season even to Thanksgiving and all the way until you're ready to break out your Christmas tree and lights! For some examples, displaying some amber glass bottles, gold candlestick holders, hang a fall wreath, or create your own DIY banner for your kitchen or fireplace mantle!

Fall scents.

I will occasionally burn my favorite candle ever because it's just so good, but I mainly try to stick to diffusing essential oils. There are so many amazing blends that will make your house smell SO good! My current favorite blend is 3 drops of stress away, 2 drops of Thieves, and 1 drop of Lemon. Try it!!

How do you like to decorate for fall? Keep it simple or go all out?! I love both in the right space and setting, but finding what works best for you and your home is the most important part!! - Kendra
