New House Build: The Exterior Design Reveal
Well y’all, we’re officially moved into the new house! We’ve been here for just over two weeks and it feels so good. There’s still a million and one things left to do, but that’s the name of the game as a home owner, right? Haha.
I realized that I haven’t shared our exterior design ideas with you and I figured it was time! We just got our driveway and porches poured last week, and Jason’s been working on getting the yard ready for straw and grass, and hopefully soon we’ll no longer be living in a dirt pit! Haha.
*The siding we went with is a white vinyl board and batten style that was ordered locally through Houghton Building Supply. If you are looking for something similar, I would get in contact with your local home improvement/building supply store!
The trim for our windows and doors are LP 5/4 boards (that still needs to be painted white to match our siding), but we wanted the trim to be thicker/more custom looking than what vinyl trim offers.

Here’s how our exterior currently is looking.
In the front yard, we’re planning to add a paver sidewalk up to the front porch with plants/bushes/flowers along both. In the backyard, we’ll be adding more landscaping and greenery around the house/yard large paver patio for space for outdoor dining, lounging, a playhouse for little miss! Maybe even some garden beds too if we’re feeling risky. Haha! Hopefully next spring will bring more time to tackle these projects!!
