My Favorite Way to Cook Asparagus
When I was growing up, I think I was probably one of pickiest eaters ever—especially when it came to fruits and vegetables! It wasn’t until adulthood that I started broadening my food choices and trying new things, when I discovered my love of green veggies! Especially asparagus!!
I honestly feel like most people who don’t love green vegetables is because they aren’t cooking them to their liking! So today I wanted to share my all time favorite way to make asparagus as a side dish. It’s a very simple, few ingredient recipe that I make almost every single week.
Asparagus Side Dish Recipe
Ingredients:
Bundle of Asparagus
Butter or Olive Oil
Fresh Garlic
Salt
Onion Powder
Directions:
Rinse and cut the tough end of the asparagus off (I usually cut where the stem starts turning white)
Put a tablespoon of butter in a pan or skillet and put on medium-low heat
Once the butter is melted, add a tablespoon of fresh minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the asparagus to the skillet and cook on medium-low heat for 8-10 minutes. Toss every few minutes.
Remove from heat when asparagus is starting to brown. Toss with salt and onion powder and serve!
I love to serve this as a side to any meal and usually pair it with pasta or grilled chicken! You’ll have to make it for any of the non-veggie lovers in your life and I’ll bet even they’ll love this simple and quick recipe as much as I do!
