Are You Living With A Positive Mindset?

A while back I watched a sermon on YouTube called When You Can’t Take It Anymore with Craig Groeschel. In it, Pastor Craig talks about how God puts something on each of our hearts that we feel passionately about and wish we could change or make a difference in. It got me thinking about all of the things I feel strongly about and wish I could make change. One of the things I discovered is something that I feel most people struggle with at some point in their lives, if not most of the time—living life with a positive mindset and simply just choosing joy in our current life.

Of course, it isn’t that simple. There are many ups and downs in life, terrible things happen, and circumstances make things hard.
But my question is, are we choosing positivity in life or becoming imprisoned in our misfortunes?

This past year I was at a business retreat and one of the speakers made a comment about how there is always a negative feeling towards having to pay our bills. Which is accurate, right? Who wants to have to spend money? But then she made the comment, “what we need to do is shift our mindset and realize that we GET to pay our bills”. It was life changing for me!! How amazing and blessed are we to be able to pay our bills, to work and support ourselves and the ones we love. It’s a blessing!!

I don’t believe God wants us to live our lives feeling burdened, He wants us to feel free of worry, safe, and joyful, knowing that we have all we need, in Him. I believe that we have a choice every single day to live with joy and positivity. Some days we will fail in our pursuit, but our lives and the lives of those around us will be impacted in such a great way if we try!

Here are a few things we can all do each day in our pursuit to live with a positive mindset:

  • Focus on the present moment

  • Fill your life with positive affirmations + practices, one thing I do is write in my Start Today Journal every morning

  • Exercise—Here are some of our favorite free at home workouts!

  • Read + listen to positive and uplifting things! Here are our some book + podcast suggestions

  • Change your failures into lessons learned

  • Spend time with people that lift you up

  • Help others in any way you can! Volunteer, donate, or even just reach out to a friend that needs some love

  • Find something you are passionate about and dedicate time to making a change

  • Pay attention to how you react and respond to things! In your own life and also about other people’s lives
