There are a ton of food swaps out there that are healthier/more nutritious alternatives to what you might currently be eating, but it can feel overwhelming to make big changes to your whole pantry and life all at once, so I believe the key is making little steps and better choices each day to help you to be healthier and heal your body from the toxins of our environment and unfortunately, the chemicals in a lot of our foods.

Here’s a little list of healthier food swaps that I’ve made in my home:

Primal Kitchen Organic Unsweetened Ketchup vs Heinz

I never loved the taste of regular old Heinz ketchup growing up, but I LOVE Primal Kitchen’s ketchup! The ingredients are so good and honestly, you’d be shocked how many of your typical Heinz brand that are full of highly processed chemicals and ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup, sugar, and more.

Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray vs Pam Cooking Spray

Avocado oil is my favorite oil for cooking as it has a high smoke point (up to 500 degrees) to avoid toxins and trans fats and it’s low in polyunsaturated fat. This spray is chemical-free from avocados that are cold-pressed and naturally refined!

Coconut Secret Organic Coconut Aminos vs Soy Sauce

We haven’t used soy sauce in so many years because coconut aminos are SO good and the perfect replacement! They are non GMO, gluten free, and vegan, made with only two natural ingredients—the sap from a coconut tree and sea salt.

Bob’s Red Mill Organic Rolled Oats vs Conventional Oats vs Prepackaged Instant Oatmeal

Although they the same nutritional information and benefits as conventional oats, certified organic oats are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and are non-GMO.

Instant oatmeal is the most processed and least nutritionally wholesome version of all the oats, so I would always try to avoid them, but If you must choose this as your oat option, be sure to pick pure not any ones that are additionally processed or include other ingredients.

crazy richard’s natural peanut butter vs JIF

Once you have natural peanut butter, you’ll never want to go back to the other stuff, trust me! The only ingredient that should be in your peanut butter is peanuts (and maybe some salt). But if you’re wanting a sweeter peanut butter then RX Bar Nut Butters are where it’s at! They have great ingredients and a little more flavor flav!

SIMPLE MILLS CRUNCHY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES VS CHIPS AHOY

These cookies are so dang good, like Chips Ahoy, but even better!!

Birch Benders Pancake & Waffle Mix vs Bisquick

Although I’m not generally a huge pancake fan, if I’m going to make any, Birch Benders is the way to go! The ingredients are just way better than Bisquick and I honestly prefer the taste too! They have a ton of different varieties from original to paleo to chocolate chip and their website has a bunch of recipes for baking with the mixes as well.

Zevia vs Soda Pop

I cannot encourage you enough to get away from soda pop regular or diet! If you love the carbonation, sweetness, fizziness that it gives you, try Zevia! I seriously love it and my pop-loving husband even does too!! Every flavor I’ve tried is so good, but Dr. Zevia, Cola, and Ginger Ale have been my favorites!

Enjoy Life Chocolate Chunks vs nestle toll house chocolate chips

The tastiest chocolate chips that are allergy friendly and made with only cane sugar, unsweetened chocolate, and cocoa butter!

Siete grain free Tortilla Chips vs conventional Tortilla Chips

Lime is my fav, but I promise they’re all so so good! Made with wholesome ingredients and baked, not fried!
